Time for more of the TWE 50th anniversary, with this lovely Glen Keith 1993 cask. The whisky was matured in a single Hogshead cask for 29 years..
Glen Keith 29 yo 1993 Signatory Vintage TWE 2022, £299
Nose: A lush celebration of sweet fruity goodness in golden sweet syrup: ripe apricots, Bananas, pineapple, mango, and ripe apples. All that – on top of sweet vanilla cream. There’s a nice herbal note to it as well, with a hint of mint and citrus zest. Lovely!
Palate: The palate continues the sweet lush, and fruity celebration with more of that ripe fruit in addition to sweet malty notes – Bananas, apples, pears and mango in sweet syrup, a nice spicy tang on the 2nd wave of sensations, with a certain “green” and vegetal note towards the end, then back to cereals notes.
Finish: Oak, butter, and cereal with a hint of green apples and toffee.
Conclusion: It is a brilliant celebration of ripe fruit, vanilla and toffee with a nice herbal edge. Lovely- yet not cheap at £299.
