Strathisla 2007, 15 Year TWE Exclusive, 60.3%, £135
Nose: Nice wood notes with lots of vanilla, some coconut, and dried bananas, then we’re off to sweeter realms – orange juice-infused sponge cake, red apples, sultanas, and some soft spices.
Palate: A spicy and hot entry, with a second wave of sweeter sensations – oranges, and mandarines, then some more milk chocolate which mixes well with the orange peel and terry’s chocolate orange. The sweet red apples from the nose are also here in addition to ripe pears and apricots on top of buttered oat cakes.
Finish: more of the oat cakes, apple, milk chocolate and a hint of cirtrus.
Conclusion: A very enjoyable Strathisla, with quite a bit of spice, fruit, and milk chocolate sweetness. Lovely even withou any water at this high abv.
