Milk and Honey distillery (or M&H) have had a busy year, and last week have held a press conference for drinks journalists, in which they presented their latest (and last in the young single malts line) Young single malt – The Last. This does not mean the distillery will not make more single malt, It just means that next year they will release their first core range 3-year-old whisky (they had released a small batch ‘experimental’ 3 year old last year if you remember – it was also rreviewed here on the blog).
In addition to the release of this new edition, they have also summed a very productive year in which they increased their distillation abilities and casks storage space as well as export abroad:
- Export & Sales
- 72% of production is exported abroad to quite a few countries: Netherlands,Belgium,Poland,UK,France, Italy and Germany. In 2019 the distillery is planning to export its products also to the USA.
- Locally there are 250 points where M&H products are sold within Israel.
- Production
- This year marked the 1000th barrel filled with new make at the distillery, which is currently distilling 170,000 liters of alcohol and filling more than 800 casks / year.
- The cask warehouse can now fit 2,500 barrels.
- Expansion
- The distillery has expanded this year and now spans more than 2,000 sq. meters in its Tel Aviv Facility, production to rise by 20% beginning 2019.
- Visitor Center:
- The visitor center opened in 2016 and since then hosted more than 12,000 visitors from around the globe. 10,000 more visitors are expected in 2019.
The Last One (Young single malt) , was presented during the event. Limited to 4,000 0,5L bottles, it was aged for a year in Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Red wine casks (STR).
