Yet another single cask from Wemyss. As you can remember from the last batch of single casks I reviewed a few month ago, those come at rather low ABV%. This one is a Glencadam 1990, and should be yummy and fruity if taking its name literally. If past experience serves as a guide, Wemyss naming are usually on the spot when it comes to the tasting notes. Let’s see for ourselves. shall we?
Wemyss Malts Caribbean Fruits Single Cask, Vintage 1990,46% , £85
Nose: vanilla , with a citrusy edge. Fruity ( melon , unripe guava and mango) , wood and honey with a touch of spice.
Palate: Spicy and very fruity. Dough filled with mango , guava and melon. Nutmeg and Demerara sugar.
Finish : sweet sawdust and honey. touch of guava.
Very fruity, with the exotic touch. vanilla, and sugar. a fruity feast. One can only regret it’s not in the 50% or upper ABV, for a few more points and a fuller body.Otherwise it’s yummy.
Score: 86/100
Many thanks to KS from Wemyss malts for the official sample
