Today we’re tasting an IB Toshan, bottled by Duncan Taylor in a line called “BattleHill” to commemorate battles fought by the highland clans in the 16 century, near Huntly. This line of bottling includes Imperial, Auchentoshan, Macallan , Aberlour and Auchentoshan. This one is an entry level bottling at 43%,
Auchentoshan 8 yo Battlehill by Duncan Taylor,43% ABV
Nose : green apples and pears fruit basket. Followed by zest, vanilla and sugar-baked apples.
Palate : Sweet, malty with sprinkles of lemon on top if pear pie.
Finish : Short-medium with some Citrus and spices.
A worthy dram if not very complex, it’s pleasant, a bit one dimensional if I might add, but would fit nicely as a summer sipper without too much analyzing, we all need those too.
Totally agree with your analysis there, my friend.
Thank you Toshan man 😉
I am enjoying the journey quite a bit!
