As some of you know, a part from editing and managing Whisky Israel, i am the Co-founder of a leading Israeli Culinary site, specializing in food, wine and the other things that matter – foodnwine.co.il.
At food an wine we focus on fine food, wines and restaurant reviews. Needless to say i am a big fan of wine, and feature quite a few of those (Mainly Israeli, but not only – though Israeli wines are spectacular).
I’ve always liked wine finishes, especially on peated drams which do not get overshadows by the wine, and some of the finishes I’ve tasted recently were rather nice.
The following week i will be reviewing a few of those wine finished whiskies, see which whisky is complemented by it and which takes a blow. and finally try to answer the question : Wine finishes ,do they add to the whisky, or just there to mask its flaws?
being a jazz fan, i will from now on include some great jazz numbers by my favourite artists, in some post when fitting. So… Until later, Here’s one of my all time favourite Jazz pianists Bill Evans doing his rendition to the classic : ‘Days of Wine and Roses’.
Enjoy. Sheer pleasure.
Slainte!
