Well, that’s a first on the blog. Cocktails that is. 😉 Why? you ask? I usually do not mix my whisky in cocktails. But:
First, It’s summer time, and sometimes it’s hard sipping a good whisky when it’s so hot outside.
Second, As you know i am (and will be) reviewing some Compass Box expression in recent and coming weeks. The Compass box site offers some very interesting Cocktails mixing with their core range, so i will make a habit and post a cocktail using last week’s expression, so you can try it out. Cool, right?
The first cocktail i chose is one based on the ‘Peat Monster’ which i quite liked. so here goes:
Islay Daiquiri
Ingredients:
1 1/4 oz (36 ml) Compass Box Peat Monster
3/4 oz (22 ml) Dark Rum (preferably Zacapa)
1/2 oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (equal parts water and sugar)
1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime juice
Preparation:
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
Strained into chilled cocktail glass.
