Wemyss Malts ‘Tarte au Citron’ – Auchentoshan 1998

This is the last sample I have left untried from the latest batch of 12 single casks released earlier this year by Wemyss. I do love me a good tarte au citron, so This sounded delicious from the start.

Wemyss Malts Glen Scotia 1991 “Merchant’s Mahogany Chest”

This is another single cask from the latest batch of 12 casks released by Wemyss just recently. If you remember, I’ve reviewed another Glen Scotia 1991 by Wemyss a few months ago -  the “Salted Caramels”, but these two apart from the same vintage, are really very different, quite excellent each in its special way. It’s so very interesting to …

Wemyss Malts “Seaweed on the rocks” Bunnahabhain 1991

Last month Wemyss malts announced an epic release of 12 single casks in one go. I managed to get hold of 6 of those, and will be reviewing them on the blog in the coming weeks. The first I chose to review was this Buna 1991. I was in the mood for a mild Islay and what better specimen than …

Wemyss Malts Salted Caramels – Glen Scotia 1991

Campbeltown whiskies are quite rare, as there are only 3 distilleries operating (if you count GlenGyle as one). Glen Scotia is rarely seen in OB, and I’ve had quite a few nice Indies distilled there which I really enjoyed (this Kintra for example). The latest batch from Wemyss consists of 6 single casks, and three will be reviewed on the …

Wemyss malts Candied Fruit–1998 Auchentoshan

Another fine example of Wemyss single casks, this time Lowlander Auchentoshan from 1998, total of 294 bottles available at 46% abv (yes yes, i know. we want more). Quite a nice dram actually, from an underrated (some would say, rightfully so) distillery and the second dram from the latest batch of single casks released by Wemyss malts  in 2013.
Wemyss malts …

Wemyss Malts Chocolate honeycomb–Bunnahabhain 2001

This is the first of the new batch just released by Wemyss I am about to review, as i was feeling like and Islay, then I realised this one is not going to give me a peat boost, but the colour was very enticing, and Bunna’s are lovely as well, so here it is. Vintage 2001 making it 13 years …

Wemyss Malts “Mellow Mariner” Ardmore 1992

If you remember well, the last batch from Wemyss Malts included 4 expressions 3 of which i have reviewed so far (here, and here) , and with the food (or drink) comes the appetite, and I am very happy to review the last, but certainly not the least: This 20 year old Ardmore single cask. now Ardmore is usually thought …
