A few month’s ago Master of malt thought of a very interesting idea. let a few bloggers blend their own whisky from a few whisky building blocks, run a wee competition, and bottle the winning blend and make it a real product that will be sold on the master of malt site. A lovely idea it was. Samples were sent …

Need I repeat my saying that peat smoke and sherry go well together, or horribly together, depending on the combination. This time we’re in for a treat. This wee wonder was distilled in December of 1990 and aged in a single Spanish oak butt for 20 years before bottling on the 7th November 2011. Just from the colour you can …

Today we’re off the whisky trail and taking a wee detour to experiment and explore a rather unique spirit from Master of Malt. the Rumbullion. This one is the brain child of Professor Cornelius Ampleforth based on the kind of rich, full-bodied rums the seafaring fraternity would have enjoyed centuries ago.

It’s again this time of year – Movember. Yes, this is not a type, not November but Movember. Like each year Whisky Israel joins this good cause and supports Movember, and so can you.
For those who are not familiar with this, it’s a charity to raise money and fight prostate and testicular cancer. So how can you support this noble …

This one concludes the recent excellent single cask bottlings released by MoM (North British 20 yo,Cragganmore 20 yo,and the somewhat weird Dalmore 14yo) which i reviewed recently. This one a Dailuaine 27 year old is very interesting, and IMHO, the best of the bunch. Not many Dailuaine single casks bottling out there, so this is double the fun.
Bottled on the 14th …
