It’s Thursday already, and let’s end this week with a bang!
A few months ago, Marc P, from South Africa who is a fellow blogger (A.K.A Whisky Brother) and good whisky friends came for a visit, and we met over at Shai’s for lunch and a few drams. Our host Shai put quite a few interesting bottles on the table, and …

A few months ago my good whisky friend Sjoerd announced another one of his famous bottle shares, this time a Bladnoch forum bottling share. Bladnoch in addition to being a distillery do operate as IB, and as such offer quite a few such bottling. I must confess it took me a lot of time to reach those samples, as my …

Wemyss malts also bottles some very good single casks in addition to the blended malt whiskies. The latest batch of single casks includes a distillery name on the label in addition to the Wemyss special naming scheme describing the whisky so accurately as I’ve grown to learn. Today we shall sample another one of those, a 1991 year old Bunnahabhain …

After the first member of the “dimensions” line , that excellent Aberlour ex-Bourbon cask, i had high hopes for this expression from the same series. Time to get back to the single casks collection by Kintra. Late 2011 I reviewed the excellent Laphraoig 13 year old which was all firecrackers and gunpowder, and I have a few more I will be reviewing early 2012. The first of which is a 22 year old Littlemill, which I also the first Littlemill to be reviewed on Whisky …

I am not too fond of yearly summaries and selecting best whiskies etc, so I have refrained from doing that and now that we’re officially in 2012, it’s time for the first dram of the new year. I’ve selected a recent bottling (though 2011, I fear no 2012 bottling exist to date, early in the second day of the year) …

Earlier this year the members of the WWW forum, an excellent forum, run by Mark Connelly, were asked to choose a single cask bottling that would be bottled especially for the forum members (if they chose to buy it, of course). After some discussion the choice fell on a 1984 Tamdhu which was bottled by David Stirk owner of the …
