Before we begin let’s get over with the jokes about this being distilled by an Anti-virus software company and all (quite a few remarks i got online when i posted about trying this one). this Whiskey is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (meaning it has more than 50% corn content in it’s mash bill), but is also meant to contain …

Time to taste some of the samples I’ve got from my good friend Josh (@cooperedtot). I’ve tasted the EC 12 before and liked it a lot, this one sadly is not available anymore, and discontinued due to lack of older stock so I am told. It’s an 18 year old single barrel Bourbon named after the Reverend Elijah Craig, who …

It’s about time I posted my notes on this one, as I’ve been meaning to for a long time. A bourbon. yes, but not any bourbon, but a very special one : finished in Port casks after being aged in fresh oak casks, as bourbons should.
Basically this is one is born out of love and passion , Lincoln Henderson’s, love …

This is third post featuring bottles from the B.Trace Antique collection bottle share organized by Sjoerd.
This baby is a wheated Bourbon, and as such offers a milder , yet rich Bourbon not as bity as the Rye, but very different from the standard Bourbon profile. It’s aged for 12 years, having been distilled in 1998, and aged on the fourth …

I started my BT Antique collection voyage with this 17 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. At 45% ABV, it is one of the weaker expressions in the Antique Collection (where some are way over 60, and even over 70%), but it’s a good one.

Bottle share. What a nice idea. You get to sample quite a few exquisite bottles, for the cost of less than a bottle. Cool eh? Bu really, bottle share are a very cool way to try a lot of new whiskies without committing and buying the whole bottle. My good whisky friend Sjoerd D.H (and a great whisky blogger on …
Amrican, Bourbon, Maker's Mark »
A few weeks ago i was reading my twitter feed, when i saw Jeff’s (better known as the scotch hobbyist) tweet about him liking the new Maker 46. I really felt ashamed as i previously never tasted Maker’s mark (one of the most popular bourbons), and i felt i needed to rectify that and also see what all the fuss …

Two facts for you:
1. I am not much of a Bourbon drinker. I’ve Tried a few Bourbons and American whiskies in my life, but I can’t say I was overwhelmed (One can claim I didn’t sample the best of Bourbons, that’s true, But I’ve tried a few before). They always seem to me less complex, sweeter.
2. Bourbon is not big …

It’s right , I don’t taste and review many Bourbons myself. I’ve been thinking of adding some Bourbon,Rye and American whisky notes, to keep compnay to all the scotch i’ve been sampling and writing about recently.
SO…. In the next coming weeks, i will try to review a few of those. With the help of my good friend and …

In fact i am in …
